UPDATE: I now offer this to anyone in academia.
Sometimes, my banner ad network defaults to non-paid public service ads. When this happens, I’m allowed to specify my own defaults when this happens. I started thinking, why not run free public service ads for the philosophical community, call them Philosophy Service Ads?
If you’re a philosopher, and you have something that you want the philosophical community to know about, let me know. I’ll place an image ad on this site as a default to the regular paid ads. I’ll also place primary (rather than default) image ads on the Sympoze website.
What Could I Advertise?
Anything that you think is of interest to the philosophical community. Examples include but are not limited too:
- Philosophy Blogs (New or Established)
- Philosophy Resource Sites
- Philosophy Conferences
- Philosophy Calls for Papers
- ….basically anything philosophy related that benefits philosophers
How Do I Advertise?
- Send Me a Link to the location of the Image (JPEG or GIF). See below for Image Specifications.
- Send me the URL you want the ad to link to.
Wide Scope/AndrewCullison.com Image Specs
728×90 pixel (.jpg or .gif)
250×250 pixel (.jpg or .gif)These will display when there are no paid advertisements to display from the banner network (that happens a lot, by the way, so these ads will be seen). The 728×90 ads will fill the top banner at the top of the page. The 250×250 ads will replace the large ad in the sidebar.
I like this idea so much, that I’m going to experiment with something more permanent on Sympoze.
Sympoze Image Specs
125×125 (.jpg or .gif)These ads will not be defaults. They will be primary ads on the left hand side bar. You can see examples over at Sympoze.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Disclaimer
It shouldn’t be a commercial endeavor for which you charge money. You may, of course, still contact me if you wish to advertise some commercial endeavor. The ad just won’t qualify for one of these free service ads.
If you’re a philosopher, I’m 99.999% that I’ll accept all requests to display free ads, but I should note that I reserve the right to decline requests, and I reserve the right to remove these ads before specified time frame ends. Again, I’m 99.999% sure that I won’t, but I thought it would be a good idea to include this disclaimer.
