Carrie Jenkins discusses the benefits of Twitter for professional philosophers here.  I listened to an earlier draft of this, and I think it’s well worth listening to.

And if you’re a philosopher interested in setting up a Twitter account, you should know that philosophers will get the most use out of Twitter (as a philosopher) when you’re following other philosophers. If you set up a Twitter account, check out John Basl’s list of philosophers on Twitter.
