Just a follow up to let everyone know that I am going to go forward with creating the journal survey and data tables that I mentioned here.
I’m going to start with a few of the major journals and make sure there were no errors in the cloning process before I crank out the other 80+ journals.
I just posted the survey and data table for Analysis. All of the data in the table (at the time of posting) was imported from the Philosophy Journal Wiki, but the table is ready to receive data from the survey below it. So go ahead and fill out the survey about your most recent submission to Analysis.
(Based on the number crunching from the Phil Wiki Import, I’ll hazard a guess…your paper was rejected…and it only took them about 2-3 weeks to tell you.)
NOTE: Until more surveys are filled out, you’ll see “#DIV/0” in some of the fields in the data table. That’s a divide by zero error in the spreadsheet.
In our case, it occurs when there is an attempt to calculate a percentage for something that has no instances in the data. For example, there is a formula to calculate the acceptance rates of conditional acceptances. If, however, there are no conditional acceptances in the first place, we’ll get a “#DIV/0” when the spreadsheet tries to calculate.
These will go away once more people start submitting surveys and we have instances of all major categories in the raw data. Until then read “#DIV/0” as “We have no data on this at the moment”
