Philosophers should have desktop wallpapers that represent their philosophical heroes, right?
To make a long story short, I needed an excuse to play around with GIMP (the Linux open-source alternative to Photoshop). Making philosophy hero desktop wallpapers seemed like the perfect excuse.
The result is one of the the nerdiest things I’ve ever done. I made an Ubuntu desktop wallpaper that represents one of my philosophical heroes, Roderick Chisholm. Check out the screen shot of my desktop. Roderick Chisholm is being appeared to Ubuntu-ly.

[Another Chisholm Wallpaper]
For my non-philosopher friends:
Roderick Chisholm was an incredible philosopher. He was famous for using phrases like being appeared to F-ly and being appeared to red-ly. According to Chisholm, being appeared to red-ly was good evidence that you are in the presence of something red. Provided you have no defeaters, you would be justified in believing that you’re in the presence of something red.
