Net-neutrality debates and the issue regarding re-instating a metered internet are starting to get more MSM attention. Here’s a recent New York Times article that came out yesterday.
And here’s a related, interesting column that came out a year ago on pbs.org. It’s not about net-neutrality per se, but it is interestingly related. It argues that major telecom companies participated in a $200 billion dollar rip off that not only defrauded the system, but also left us with much worse internet than other countries (for about triple the price). The article also argues that the United States may now no longer be a real player in the internet.
I’ve got some more thoughts about this issue, but I’m want to look into this stuff a bit more before I really start shooting my mouth off.
